Ive done the age old thing of breaking out the torx bits and dismateling something with no consideration of how it should go back togeather.
On my Mk1 Ph3 i thought id have a look at the dash speakers (the ones underneath the air vent on the drivers side) all it took was 3 torx screws and the piece of plastic covering them - which also housed the right hand air vent and its slider could be removed slighlty - although i couldnt take it right off as i assume it was all still convected with the heating system, i tried to push it back into place, and although the bottom goes back fine, the bit at the top where all the heater vent is, wont go back in properly, it sticks out at the left hand side, and to make matters worse, the heater vent and the little slider which controls it only have limited movement, for some reason now the vent wont go above the 'level' position, and the slider wont go all the way down to the bottom.
Ive tried giving it a damn good smack but it wont 'clip' in, and im almost certain its a part of the heater controls which is stopping it, but as the whole thing wont come off in the first place i cant see inside properly to have a look.
Does anyone know what could be the problem or the correct technique for getting it to go back in properly?
