how to quiet down an exhaust

just got a "quiet" exhaust, anybody got any ideas on how to reduce the boominess

replace the silencer with a bigger one ?

but thats like changing the whole back box tbh .

a bigger silence will restrict the performance though .

Has it got a centre resonator fitted and a cat convertor?

If its got a centre section, you could get it packed a little more. I did that with my Janspeed and wouldnt change the sound for anything else now.

a local exhaust specialist will insert sound deadening material into the middle silencer think adding extra baffles into the back box wouldnt be cost effective, hunt down a local specialist and see what they say.
