How to remove door bump strips?

Thinking of painting these myself to colour code with the rest of the car.

As title says, how do i rip the buggers off in one piece.

They just slide off . Open the door , front one slides backwards , back one slides forwards .

unless of course your car is a ph1 before w reg?

they do have a clip that holds it from sliding but you can push them and they slide even of a w reg my old 1 was a t reg and slid of easy

yeh t reg have a star in which needs to be undones then they should slide out

I opened the door, and they do slide.. but slightly... I dont really want to force them.

Mine is a Y reg mk2 ph1

Ok one of them slid out, the others dont want to budge! any suggestions? I dont want to force them too much, plus.. the fact that there shape makes it hard to put any force on them to slide them out is a bit annoying.
