How to remove the mirrors on a mk2ph1?

I want to paint the outer mirror covers, so I need a step-by step on how to remove the mirrors and then dismantle them to spray them without breaking them.

They are manual mirrors off a mk2ph1 1.2 7v grande btw. Cheers.

Removing the cover on the inside of the door and there are the srews I think...

How do you remove the covers on the inside of the door? Do they just slide off? im scared i might break them

if its the same as mine though mine is a 172 all you need to do is pull the triangle bit of plastic in the corner off undo the 3 srews and take plug off if electric job done

Just pull the triangle bit of plastic off? im scared it might snap... which direction do i pull it? into the glass?

na pull it away from the glass as straight as you can all it isis 3 plastic pins that push into some rubber bits

Ok never mind, managed to rip it off.... now my question is... can i actually dismantle the mirror casing and paint some of it silver? Cheers.
