How to remove the 'rubber' strips in the footwell

As per the title, has anyone found an easy way to remove these strips pictured without scratching the metalwork?

Heat gun and scrape

Proper heat gun not hairdryer but not sure you'll manage it without scratching the metalwork atleast a little

As long as you heat it up enough it comes off quite easy.

Cheers guys, I have a blow torch in the shed, ill have a go :smile:

Well that wasn't too bad. Blow torch it until it turns greenish then it just peels off. beware of the fumes though, I think I might be slightly high on them.
Going to clean off the residue and then prep for its paint job.
