how to save pics as *jpg* files ??

hi .... when right clicking on some pics ,i click on ,save pic as ,
and when i go to save it , it only gives me the option of saving as ,"art"/"bmp" files ?????? any idea how to change it as jpg?

I'm guessing your using Internet Explorer? You should IIRC be able to just save the file as filename.jpg with the filetype as .bmp and it save it as a jpg.

its saying that its a jpeg image but it wont open ,,,with anything ??? saying not a valid file /no preview available??????

You need to delete your Temporary Internet Files, Tools -> Internet Options then click Delete for Internet Explorer 7.

and when trying to open in fotoshop it says invalid file format????

If you've saved a *.bmp as a *.jpg in IE then I'm not suprised. It will still be a *.bmp but you'll have confused any program that you try to open it with.

Rename it back to *.bmp then open in photoshop or whatever then save as a *.jpg by selecting it from the drop down menu.

ahhh i see im on aol.... i was just naming the file as whatever eg.(images)
and it was saying not valid file type, so ive named the file .bmp and the picture is there now ...cheers mate
