how to trace a broken wire from win motor

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
changed regulator and switch, still no power to window motor, could be a break, how can i trace it back and could i take a feed from somewhere else for the drivers side motor,
also if it clicks when i press it does that mean that the relay works, and is there fuses or relays under the bonnet that could stop it working, checked my hand book but cant find anything on relays

If the switch itself clicks then it could just be the parts inside moving against each other rather than a solenoid?

I imagine the only way to trace it back is to pull bits off the car to get to it then follow it back! :S

Could just be a fuse though so if you can find the fuse box there should be a diagram in your handbook that details what do which things :)

there are no relays as such they are controlled by the UCH. have you had a multi meter on the wire to see if there is any power?

i'm guessing it should be giving 12v right?, well its only giving me 0.06v from the wire that goes to the motor, can i take a feed from somewhere else, if i touch the wires into the passenger plug then the window will go down or up by itself depending on which wire i touch, so the motor is fine, its just the wires from the harness that go to the motor which are at fault, i'm losing my mind on this, not to mention driving around with no door card on till i getr it sorted.
