used to be that Z's in the number were all Irish.

Lots of Renault pre registered cars are HT53 though, so I'm not surehow the Z fits into it with new style reg numbers.

Hairymill Road, Thursday night.... eh possibly but I dont remember being down that way on Thursday except in the morning.

number plate R90 RYS gives me away!

lol great question, I went to look at a house in Ferndale Gardens in Summerston not long ago.

I've got a Z in the plate on my current car and it was Essex registered I think...

HT53 were mostly the Cups that Arnold Clark were selling for £10,995 in early 2004 - they were pre-registered in December 2003 IIRC. Think I remember this correctly as I was closely looking at them but went for my 04-plate, April-2004 registered, full-fat 172 instead for £200 more...

Thats a 53 plate reg, new style plate ie. 2 letters (code for area in country where car was first registered), two numbers depicting the month/year it was registered then 3 random letters).

Northern Irish plates have letters as the first 3 characters of the plate, one of which invariably is 'Z'. Also look out for 'IL' as the 2nd and 3rd characters for a Norn-Iron plate.

The code 'HT' is a Hampshire and Dorset code, with the car likley to be first registered in the Portsmouth area.

After 1999 Area Codes. Example, in CN 51 ABC, CN is Cardiff
