HTC Desire - £250 - worth it?

Weighing up if to get the Desire or the iPhone 4. My contract is up in May of next year so thinking Desire now? iPhone4GS or whatever crap they come up with next year? Is it worth it Desire users?

Yeah sim free/unlocked/unbranded. However it is someone off Gumtree which I am a bit iffy about but they only live 10 minutes away.

£250 on 02 now PAYG get a tesco sim only deal on 02 at £10 so your not tied thats what I am goin to do i Think .
