can anyone get the following to work:

http://www.speedtester.bt.com/

I have regraded to BB max, but my line speed dropped from approx 2mb to 1/2 meg :( My ISP is telling me my fault level is anything less than 5mb, and have told me to run the above 3 times a day for a week so they can report the fault to BT.

But as yet I have never been able to get it to run, as it always comes up with Error!! :dapprove:

Yea that link works fine for me might be the browser you are using i tried it on oprea and it works fine

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 5262 kbps

If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.

The system is currently busy. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.

GHEY !!!! It actually makes cliosport look good!!

Just tested it on internet explorer and it brings up a error

The IP address discovered on the network associated with your telephone number did not match the one we have logged from this browser/connection. Please check your telephone number and try again. If problem persists please contact your CP.

There are some other test other than that one tho forgot the names of them i'll try and find some

1) dslMAX threshold before BT consider the line ot be at fault is something stupid like 220k

2) The speedtester results are ONLY valid to Bt when tested during the day. As they consider the evenings "peak" traffic hours.

Speak to your ISP first as they are the ones who will log the faults with BT Wholesale. (Who charge your ISP)

OH BTW the BT Speedtester site is very very busy. Normally have to try a good few times.

Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2448 kbps

it's well above what bt would consider to be a fault (400kbps throughput).

go here : http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/ and check if you are on a congested exchange.

My exchange is fine according to that ^^^. My ISP told me that they can lodge a fault if my speed is below 5000 kbps, though whether this will do any good or not is another question

Yeah, but how is his ISP supposed to see the results so they can raise a fault with BT.

we have a piece of software called whoosh, and now also a new section on the bt wholesale site. through both of those we can see all your results if you have tested on the bt speedtester.

The point i was making, badly, was to the lad who posted the link to a speedtest site, aka, the link was irrelevant.
