HU question + IPod tip

  A Beautiful R32
Hi all,

regarding recent threads, my alpine HU arrived today and I installed it and got it working etc.

However, there was a yellow multi point connector which came out of the back of the old stereo and now doesn't fit anywhere, wtf is that about??

Also, the 9850ri I have claims to have auto dimmer which works when the lights come on (without you having to connect it to the dimmer switch on the clio) but does it f**k...

Great stereo, will eventually get the dash off and get the steering controls sorted.

One good tip we found though, is when you run the IPod cable from the back of the stereo to the glovebox, push it through the little hole in the top for the glove compartment catch. It can fit through and leave loads of space for the glovebox to shut.

Think the yellow plug is to do with the steering controls. To get the dimmer working on mine i had to cut one of the cables on the standard loom (can't remember what colour, but sure someone can tell you, blue or orange i think?) and connect it to the loose cable labled 'dimmer' or similar on the back of the alpine. My car and stereo are both earlier models though :D
