Hub / drum puller removal tools ?

Car  182
I need to replace the rear wheel bearing on my dci and know it can be a struggle removing the drum without a tool.

I dont know what tool is needed. Can anyone help?

My local motor factors have this in. Do you think this will be up to the job?

Thanks

The drum brakes are a standard Renault (and many other cars) design where you poke a screwdriver in the stud hole, push the handbrake lever mechanism inwards then slide it rearwards to release the shoes. Torch and small flat head screwdriver is all you need, using a puller can damage the friction surface of the shoe from the lip on the drum.

Thanks mate. Sounds more confusing that I thought.

Its easy once you get your head round it. A puller could also knacker the mechanism as the pad will get stuck on the worn lip in the drum and want to rip the lot off

Its in the garage now getting done. Saves messing around and is only going to work out £10 more expensive than doing it myself.
