Hub to strut issues

  S2000
When I was replacing the gearbox on my 16v over the past weeks or so (not had a chance to work on it properly) I noticed that theres something a bit strange when connecting the hub to the strut on the passenger side.

On my other clio you just have to push the hub back a little and it lined up with the holes on the strut so it was easy to do up, they were at the same height in the first place. However on the 16v passenger side I have found that the hub bolts sit much higher than the strut bolts (by about 1 - 2cm roughly) and to get them lined up you really need to push down on the wishbone arm to get them lined up. When doing it the only way I could manage it was by putting a screwdriver in the top hole and levering it down so that the bottom would line up.

Any ideas on what could cause this, and should I be worried by it?

Thanks.

do you have both sides jacked up? if not then the anti roll bar is working against you and causing what you describe above

both sides are jacked up. TBH I don't know if it was the same on the other side as I only undid the top bolt there so I could remove the driveshaft.
