nope mate, the valve treatment is totally different from Wynns Super Charge

its like a VERY thick oil in a can, the valve treatment is very thin oil IIRC

  Was a Clio 1.8 16v

So it basically thins the oil with some sort of lubricant which helps the valves move more freely? Ill put it in when my oil comes down from the MAX mark a bit & report back.

Can u get this to add to ur petrol? Any1 used it or know anything about it?

Im about to put this Wynns stuff in my oil if not, thanks, Mikey.

lol My fault, its late.

No, i mean can u buy valve treatment to add to your petrol rather than Oil? Ive been told so but im sure i checked last time i was in BMS, any1 know of this?

ATF does the same and its cheaper, just put a quart of ATF runi gth engine for a few minutes, change oil and voila, no more sticky tappet noise.

never seen one mate.......no idea how it would work either really.......

the ones you put in the petrol can clean the valves......but wont do anythin about the noise

This valve treatment doesnt say i need to change the oil, just run as normal, so ill probably use that.

R u sure the petrol additive 1 wont quieten the noise? Thanks.

i very very much doubt it........unless you have some giant piece of carbon on one of your valves....hehe

it wont quieten it mate, its the mechanical side of things thats makin the noise

what oil you usin ?.........magnatec by any chance ?

Just been serviced with expensive fuel & oil treatments, filled up with Mobil 1 so no problem there. Its that bloody Magnetex that has made my valves tappety!

you could try wynns (i think) stop smoke or something, supposed to cut smoke down from your exhaust but quietened down my tappets a treat.

OK i finally used the Oil additive stuff and i cant mock it.

It has reduced the engines idle noise by around 30% id say and sounds more crisp but u can still hear that quick ticking noise but all the other sounds it makes are not as loud. I can recommend it for a smoother sound which also must mean its doing some good to the valves aswell.

Worth a try if u were unlucky enough to use Magnetex in ur Clio 16v (which caused the loud engine idle). Hope this helps others, Mikey.

The quick tappin noise should just be there anyway mate. Its gotta tap a bit hehe, The injection makes a tickin noise doesnt it? It its a loud ticking and not that fast it will be your valves.

Yeah, i thought id be my injectors, its jus louder than most other cars injectors but its the same with ever Valver ive heard so aint anything unusual.

just live with it mate, they aint a particularily modern engine. not gonna be that quiet. Just ude 10w 40 oil and change every 3 -4 k. Mines always quiet apart from when cold at startup.

True.

I changed mine to Mobil 1 15w/50 last service, and will change every 6k as it runs fine, it was the GTX that caused a loud tappet noise!
