DONT BUY A F*CKING RENAULT !!!

Never again. I have literaly been told today that they are confident they will fix the problem with the next release of ECU software, but this hasnt been finished yet. Oh, and I have had the problem for 4months on and off!

Its currently under investigation. I know that doesnt help you at this time but bear with it. These things do take time to get sorted.

As soon as I know of an updated ECU reprogramming, I will post it on the forum.

The problem for me is ..

Coil light comes on followed by the engine management light, after that the throttle does nothing and the car revs between 1800 - 2000rpm which means you cant even drive it as it jerks.

Now the car seems to not rev above 3k, which with these engines is useless!

In the garage for the 7th time, been there for a week. Over the past few months its had numerous throttle bodies a couple of ECUs and god knows what else. We are without the car we purchased which is quite annoying. We have also ordered a new Mini which means we need to sell this car and obvioulsy we cant in the current condition.

I was told the new ECU fitted yesterday was going to fix it, but oh no it didnt!

Speaking to Reno Customer services they are confident they will fix the problem with the new ECU program which they are working on, when will this be available I hear you ask we dont know is the answer.

I have no doubts they will eventually fix the problem but we are without a car for one and on a time limit to sell the car to get the new one.

If anyone wants the car they can have it for £6300, it will be a good buy when its back on the road.

Its obvious to me that new clios are not this bad so why not put the new ECU with all the new parts and that should do it. obviously something on the car is not compatible with the new ECU program.

And this has been going on for 4 months so you can understand the frustration, before at least the car was sort of drivable.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you ordered the mini because you wanted less trips to the dealer, then it looks like you have more hassle in store :(

The car was new, but no problems at all for the first 18months. Its registered in Sept 01.

Ordered the Mini because they are cool! Not paying 1600squid for the insurance on a 172 otherwise the GF would have had one.

only reason i say about trips to the dealer is because i work at one and know exactly how long the list of recalls etc is on the mini, there seems to be a new one every week at the moment
