I can move my disc horizontally ans vertically ?!

Hey.

I've taken my wheels off for spraying and noticed that on the nearside front, If I hold the disc at the sides or on the top and bottom I can wobble it quite a lot.

When I got the car it went for the MOT and was going to fail on the front left wheel bearing but I tightened the hub nut and that solved the issue the wobble was gone.

Is this related? Do the nuts come loose or has the bearing terminally failed?

Suspension and brakes etc really isn't my forte so i'm not sure what the fix would be? New ball joint?

If you can move it in both directions, more than likely wheel bearing.

It should be even more noticeable with the wheel on still.

Or the front discs don't have the securing screw, so it'll just move the disc without the hub

The screw is definitely in there. Looks to be properly tight too. I need a good look at it, I just noticed it briefly the other day when removing the wheels without any further inspection.

With the screw being fitted, it definitely sounds like a wheel bearing. Get it sorted ASAP!

Would it be a case of just tightening it up (again)? Or replacing the bearing? Is it a sign of wear if it's coming loose? Again, cheers for the replies.

Providing it was torqued up correctly in the first place, it'll be the bearing. Don't f**k about with it.

Get a genuine bearing too.

Replace it. If the hub nut had come loose, then the bearing will have been worn abnormally.
And when it's replaced make sure it is torqued up correctly.
Get it done sooner rather than later. You don't want it failing on you.
