I just bought a magnex backbox..

Hi. I just bought a magnex backbox for my 1.4 mk1 clio. It's for a valver/rsi. I plan to fit it on sunday, but do I need a reducer or anything?

I think it should fit mate.. the exhausts are all in the same place on every clio, i am just not 100% sure on the diameter of the pipes, fitting a magnex back box to standard system.. you should be ok tho

and yeah gray thats what i was worried about. i wont lose performance if it's bigger, but fits if i use an exhaust clamp will i?

The backbox retails at about 125 new. I got it off a guy on ebay brand new for £55 inc postage.

mofo is yours an oval or twin exit? is it just cat-back or your got a decat aswell? mines tending to take agggeeesss to warm up properly and only then it starts sounding good...:dapprove:

yeah i have to say once its warm it does sound good, but its just till that point (takes ages) its sort of just like its not there

weird. when I had mine before MOFO stole it it was full on straight off from driving cold. though it did pop louder on down changes once warm. summertime was the best time of the year!

IIRC with this backbox it should be just a case of cutting your existing system to fit.

is this just the backbox or did you have the bit all the way to the cat with the middle silencer too? i have the middle silencer and i think this is having some effect maybe?

It's a nice sounding exhaust mate. I've got mine on now, sounds quite like yours, I've been doing so much driving without music now just to listen to the exhaust (sad).

My mate had a Magnex box on a Mk4 Golf that was similar, very little sound until it was warm.

It was a one off sale. He started the bid on ebay for 9 days at 50 starting bid with 15 postage. nobody bidded and i missed the bid, so i messaged him and snatched it up quickly

So me and some mates just spent f**king hours today trying to fit this thing. Thanks a lot guys. It just 'slips' the f**k on. My arse. I need a f**king reducer. I can't believe nobody here told me this. Jesus i'm pissed off.

On that note, if anyone has one, i'll buy it.
