Ive got a cold, feel run down, want to sleep.......
Got a call from my GF ~12:20 this afternoon, the blipper on her Clio RXE had packed up. Dragged myself out of bed and went to rescue her in Cricklade, presuming that the batteries had gone. So traipsed around Cricklade, no luck finding one (1/2 the shops shut anyway...) Trip to Blunsden Motor Supplies, none there, so into Swindon and to Renault Minute. £6 for new batteries and.... no light working..... Knew it was going to be one of those afternoons....
Back to Cricklade and no luck with the blipper.....
We could open the car and start it, but the alarm was going off so called for breakdown. Breakdown comes and manages to disable the alarm (holding the central locking button down?!) Car is now at Bridges to be looked at.
Five hours later and Im sat here just generally gassing, absolutely knackered!
Anyway, is this likely to be a remapped key needed, and is this common?
Oh, also, there was a recall notice on it. Its a 1998 1.6 RXE, something to do with petrol pump bolts, or something along those lines. Shouldnt the dealer it was bought from informed us about this?
Right, Im off to die now....................
