I'd be VERY wary!

P.S. I'd go collect it, or at least ask. If they say no, then you know there's something up.

10ft barge pole springs to mind.

To be fair, everyone has to start somewhere buying/selling on ebay, so I dont think the zero feedback is an issue.

However, it doesnt stop someone who has been banned/has very poor feedback from re-registering under a new name.

Paypal for buyers is very safe, however it is not when selling items. This is the case when selling an item, and it is posted to an unconfirmed address. In this instance you are not covered.

The following is taken from the ebay: paypal more info page.

Eligibility requirements
  • Claims must be made for tangible, unprohibited goods that can be posted.
  • Buyers must raise a dispute within 45 days of a single PayPal payment for the full price of the item. If no satisfactory response is received from the seller, a claim must be escalated within 20 days of raising the dispute.
  • The payment must have been made using the "Pay Now" button on eBay or by associating the payment with the eBay item number on the PayPal site.
  • Buyers cannot make multiple claims on the same payment. Click here for all terms and conditions.
If you can collect, I reckon thats the safest bet as you dont part with your cash till the item is in your hand. (and you have an address should problems occur)

I would very rarely buy of someone with no feedback, unless they lived local.
Personally i would go and collect, if and when he sends you an address

I was going to suggest looking into chargeback (put that, all one word, into paypal search)

My limited understanding of it is that: you get your goods, see that its wrong, ask you bank to do a chargeback, they take the money off paypal. Paypal obviously get in a state about losing money and take it off the seller, then it is up to the seller to prove the goods were correct to get his money back. Which if youre right, he cant

win!

Under Paypal's new rules she won't get the money in her account until you've left her positive feedback anyway. Great in this case but last time I tried to sell something I got caught out with this and its a pain!

Look at the picture.. the screen on the "iPod touch" is wrong and those aren't the cables they come with. Only thing that looks legit is the box lol.

Looks like a chinese copy to me....

opened the package this morning YES it was a FAKE, called the seller asap told her that i should report this to trading standards as she advertised it as an ipod. She instantly gave me a paypal refund. But now i have to send the item back - i dont see why i shoud loose £5 on postage & my time when i was the person mislead in the first place - the fake item does say ipod 16gb this means its like having a fake £50 which should be disposted.

wat shud i do...

Report it to eBay and all their auctions will be taken offline whilst they are investigated (and if they say it's Apple when it's not they will simply have their account disabled).

Family friend who sold a lot of fake things through eBay has had this happen to them lots of times but still have the account and still sell as not once do they mention trademarked names and even state that they are (Very good) fake items.
