I think my speedo is out on my 172 cup?

  1/4 mile 14.9 @ 92mph
I picked my 172 cup up today and it's ace, except the speedo seems to under read?

It has 182 cup alloys fitted with 45 tyres on and it feel like 20mph is 30mhp and so on...........

Is it the alloys fitted or could the speedo be out. Also when just about to red line in second the speedo clock says just under 60 is that right or should it clear 60 in second gear??

Kev.

I am not well advised on the Cup's but from what I know 2nd tops out at 65mph. It will easily pull 60's anyway so would suggest the speedo os out.

60 in second sounds normal from memory.

Go for a drive in a residential area, find a speed cam, and follow another car through it. Speedo should read 30ish... ;)

Speedo's will overread by a few mph, shouldnt ever underread.

Just followed my mate at 30 in his car and my speedo wasn't even on 20!! what the fook is it lol.

Surely it can't be the wheels & tyres as they are the same as what was originally fitted to the 172 Cup.

I'd ditch the 182 alloys pronto personally. They look gash compared to the Turinis! and they weigh more.

Wheels and tyres you have fitted wont make a difference, no doubt a speedo sensor of some kind has gone.
