I want one!

Heya peeps,

Looking to buy a 172... Have one in mind just now thats on the forum.
3hr 1/2 drive so will be a day trip to go see, so will need 2nd driver (for if I puchase) and a day to do travelling!

Little about me! I'm a scooby guy, have been for years and wil always have a soft spot for them.
But I am sick of Insurance costs being couple hundred more for the simple reason its a scoob.

Looking about I've always heard good things about RS clios, nobody seems to have a bad word about them.
Cheap to insure decent mileage can be achived with light footness.. although a tough job for any petrol head.
And the main thing decent amount of go to them too. Never been in a RS one before so will be interesting to see exactly what there like!

Been lurking about the forum for a bit and looks like a fairly active and decent crowd.. well for the majority anyway..

Hopefully I'll be pleased with the car when I see it. Had all its important belts and dephaser done!

Cheers

ps I stay in the Scottish Borders.. anyone near here at all? would be good to have a shot in one so I can compare it to ones I look at.

Welcome. If the only thing starting you away from impreza's is the couple of hundred pound insurance, I'd stay in a few weekends out of the year lol

Not just the insurance thing but it's a big reason, I dont see why I should be penalised for insurance simply because its an impreza, when there are plenty other cars out there with similar performance and half the insurance.
Most importantly I want a change something small and fun. With some new challenges. Not to mention the mpg is better.
After probaly 15years around scoobs, I have had quite a few other cars in this time as well, there isnt much Ive not done on one.

Welcome to the forum !

My advice is look at a lot before you choose price condition and service history varies massively !! at least that way you will be able to compare there are some proper money pits out there now.

I dont doubt it davo, I haven't got alot of time to visit many cars unfortuntly, I will just have to be lucky.
But the car Im looking to visit has had all belts and dephaser done last year.
