Ibiza Splitter fitting

Ok, got hold of an ibiza splitter, and was led to believe it would go straight on. However after removing bumper from my 16v and taking old bottom bit off I find the Ibiza splitter too short, and requires modding. Anybody like to offer advice, as I am unsure as to how I should progress

i take its for the front
ANYWAY your right that it easier to fit with the bumper off

anyway heres how i done mine
invert the bumper and line up the splitter

you need to prep the splitter first. leave the top lip as this is the mounting bit. the bottom however cut off as much as you can following the lines os the splitter as this will allow the splitter to be bent on the corners

you cant fit it on your own as its quite a bit of work

start screwing into botton of splitter and then screw the splitter in with self tappers into the bumper

the straight bits is easy as the splitter follows the bumper perfectly

but while someone helps you bend the splitter to follow the lines of the bumper you need to choose the best position in the splitter to cut triangle out of so it bends right.

after this. just screw in again while someone holds in position

quite easy really
fort any gaps just fill with black silicone, job done

bye bye

Cheers Wongy, yep it is for the front, couple more questions if you can be bothered.

Painting, did you use plastic primer before painting, and did you spray it before it went on or after, also how is it holding up, has paint cracked or anything like that given how flexible it is.

Also how does it look side on, i.e. does it look ok, even if it doesnt stretch all the way up to edges of bumper at the wheel arch.

(photo of one anywhere ?)

cheers appreciate your help.

no probs
well mine is still black mate
i may get it blended and sprayed but personally think it looked wicked now. looks much better than the black lip reno did

anyway yes it will be plastic primed and ive seen them sprayed but its down to personal tastes.

mine actually looks factory fit from every angle and from side, ive cut it to follow bumper and curve of my 17s. you will have roughly 2" overlap/excess on each side.

Yeah Wongys looks quality now its all done tidy and everything. Shame he almost couldnt get it on the rollers cos it was scraping!

Got the splitter for nothing and have now discovered it has already been cut at either end to fit an astra (well done as well, hence I never noticed and had to be informed by the guy I got it off)

Somebody from the renault sports club suggested a Cordoba splitter as a possibility with a wee bit more originality, anybody here have any idea what it would be like, or have even seen such on a Clio. I am assuming he meant a later shape cordoba since the earlier ones would probably have the same front end as a Ibiza.
