Identification needed please!

Hi, could someone please ID this cable from the engine bay in my Mk3 Ph1 TCE.
The cable is just behind the driver's side light cluster, and whilst changing a bulb I think I have knocked it loose from somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find any possible culprits!

It's a strange connector, doesn't look like it 'slots' into the other side, just pushes up flush against it? One side it slightly longer than the other. Going into the clip is one black, and one yellow cable.

All of the lights work as intended, the engine runs fine and all the sensors that I can see work correctly (Speed, water temp, petrol, outside temp).

What on earth does this cable do!?

I think that's a blanking plug mate, cars have standard looms now so you tend to get a few un used plugs! It's got caps in the plug so I shouldn't worry! If you are still worried, pop into Renault, they will tell you in minutes!

Thanks alot for your reply, how would I go about asking Renault? Just turn up and ask to speak to a mechanic or would I have to book an appointment?

Just go to your local dealer and go to the service department and just say, you've got a loose wire that's not plugged in and its worrying you, they should (if they are helpful) send someone out to have a look, if they say you need to book it in etc, don't bother, just then go and find a good independent one who will look! Who normally services your car? Take it to them.

Cheers mate. Actually nobody does, just coming up to a 12k interval now, had a minor service at 3k when it got part x'd to the dealers, think ill be doing the service. I know someone who works at a garage so ill just take to him if needed. Thanks again.
