idle problem

This morning went to start car but didnt start up first time! second time was fine. I also noticed for the first 2 mins it was idling just over 1000 revs when normally it under. But then it was fine.

Is this bad? I'll see if it keeps doing it and if so i'll take it into garage.

TBH with you my Trophy does that some times, it will always start first time but if it is cold it will idle a little higher, I doubt there is anything to worry about.

Just see if it does it all the time, if it does pop it in to renault and get it hooked up to the computer and see what faults appear.

How much would they charge to bring in the car for them to check these things? I'm new to dealers? I dont have warranty.

is the high idle not just becasue it's a cold start, I think it's like an Auotchoke or something similar.

Yeah but normally the car will Idle around the 1k mark or just below. If its higher there really isnt a problem it may just be the car is colder than normal.

Priceing for checking the car varies depending where you go, best advice is find a Renault specilist along the lines of RENTECH, GDI, etc who will be able to take a look without the prices of dealerships.

Idling around 1100rpm is normal from cold start mate - its a fast idle to get things warmed up I think.

I would'nt worry about it not starting first time either if its not a regular thing. Mine sometimes does not start first time when its hot (say when leaving a petrol station after filling up) and I believe that is fairly normal too and nothing to worry about.

O right cool. ye it was quite cold this morning and very wet. I'll keep an eye out see if it gets worse.

How much would a renault dealer charge? I'll see if i can find a renault specialist around my area.
