Hi

I got a mk2 172 I've had it serviced. And still people tell me it sounds like my spark plugs need changing. Is this normal ? It ticks over at correct rpm?

What people or maybe one person ? How can it " sound " like the spark plugs need changing ? Correct idle , when warm is 800rpm + or - 50 . If it's running fine , no misfires then i wouldn't bother . Spark plugs are supposedly good for 72k according to the service interval , although i did have to change mine on my old 172 at about 40k due to a misfire .

For what it's worth I'd pop a plug out and see what you've got ? I had some nasty motor factor part in mine and replaced it with the proper ngk part and there was a hell of a difference.
