how much will my insurance go up? im with renault i only want 40mm, i would go for 60mm but im worried the handling will be bad! what springs are best?
when i lowered my mk 1 and crashed they didnt even notice the suspension they just asked if the alloys were insured. imstill debating whether to tell the insurance company this time either.
ive just got some p.i springs for my 52 1.6 dynamique and some 17" kahns
Some of the people at Renault insuracne will write lowering of the car down to exterial looks so you may just get away with a small premium increase (~£30) or they muy stick your excess up. But you may have to keep ringing them and asking loads of different people.
Best springs seem to be Pi ones lowering 60 though is a bit much for long term use unless you use uprated shocks as well. With a 60 drop you will wear the shocks quickly.
& they wont cover you if ur under free insurance for lowering springs... not sure if ur under the free insurance tho?!
and 40mm is not enough! 60mm minimum! i lowered my 1.2 16v 60mm on 17s and i have posted a pic on the thread titled "lowered clio" on the media section and u will see it really isnt that low! which is precisly why im going 80mm on coilovers soon instead
