I'm New And Looking To Buy A 182 or 172 Ph2

hi all i am looking to buy a clio sport buy im undecided which one as i love the twin exit exhaust on the 182. i currently own a 1.6 tdci focus and am looking for something quicker and alot more fun

any advice would be greatfully recieved

172 cup = very quick and fun! (minus the twin exhaust.) I personally would avoid the standard twin exhausts as they are very cheaply made (aka french)

If I got a 172 I would probs put a twin exhaust on it or a 182 and do the same, is putting the twin on a 172 frowned upon?

How much are you looking to spend on the car? That may help your decision as 182s are generally slightly higher in price. I am a fan of the twin exhausts though hence choosing a 182 myself.

I'd advise 182, although not havin one my self i do have a double exhasut on my 1.6

Plus if your wanting to mod it, id straight go and get a stainless steel manifold with a 200 cell sports cat. How much in total are you willing to spend? And are you wanting performance mods?

ive currently got a 172 & i have a scorpion 182 exhaust on it. the twin exhaust does look good tho.

they are same apart from cd changer, and who uses them anymore anyway.

I personally don't like the twin exhaust design on the 182s.

You should just buy a 172 if you don't like the twin exhaust. The 10bhp difference is the 4-2-1 Stainless Steel Manifold with 200 cell sports cat on the 182. But you can get the 182 manifold and cat from K-Tec racing if you have a spare grand! (http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1617&appid=2)

The difference between the 172 and 182 is minimal,

The extra 10bhp you get in a 182, you would never tell the difference. Also it aint worth the hassle of swapping the 182 manifold to a 172 IMO.
If you prefer the stealth look get a 172.
If you like two straws for an exhaust (similar build quality) get a 182.
Driven both at length and they both sounded the same to me.
Cruise control came as standard with the 182 and the later 172.

My money would go on a mint 172.

182 comes with pretty colour options and twin exit exhaust (I'm also a fan)

172 has a more limited colour choice and no exhaust on show (standard)

It seems to me like you want a 182... If you do get 5k for the focus I'd go for a trophy like allen said... Youd be hailed as a god on here with a trophy
