Immobiliser Issue

Hi Guys,

Not a 'sport' issue, but thought I'd put it the way of my old community.

Having an issue with girlfriend's Clio Phase II

Car opens with central locking fob, but car just turns over without starting.

Immobiliser(?) light on top middle of dashlights is flashing.

Occasionally car will start, but not often

Anyone got any ideas?

I had the same problem, just got mine sorted on saturday. I had 2 options:
A) get the key coded by a dealer, cost from my local is £38. This will solve the problem unless the key is at fault.
B) Buy a new key, cost from my local dealer was £92 + £16 for the blade (metal part that goes in the lock).

I decided to buy a new key and get the new and old ones coded, cost a lot but everything works fine now.

same problem over here, the local renault dealer for me is like 3hours away

As above.

I had to use a renault Clip machine to start the car so I could get it to the workshop.
