Immobiliser issue!

Had a look and cant seem to find anything, so here goes.

Will an ECU/UCH set from a 172 work with a 172 cup. I purchased one believing that it would still be compatible, but it never worked and my mechanic believes its the wrong part because the numbers on it differ from what's already on the car.

I can explain what happened if that makes a difference, its been off the road for a month and getting pretty annoyed now.

Believe the uch serial no must match up.

Believe you have to change all the locks as well

Nope, you don't have to change any locks. You change the ECU, uch, decoder ring and chip in the key

Get one of the same type, n2 or n3. 172 ff is n3 with rain sensor, ac programmed into the ECU. N2 has neither of those
