I got this, try holding the key upto the interior light and lock/unlock a few times. Resets it.....

Why would you hold it up to the interior light? The key uses a radio signal to the UCH under the glove box.

It has that ring around the ignition barrel, yeah. When mine went spazzy, a mate, who is a mechanic came round, blipped it against the inerior light a few times and it worked so I'm guessing it's got something to do with it.....

thats not it. the immobiliser de-activates when the key is turned and the ring picks up a transponder signal from the key, not when the button on the key is pressed. thats for the central locking and alarms.

you could take the battery out of the key and still start the car.

LOL, It worked on mine! I know all about how the keys work using the ign barrel etc but the guy came round, held it upto the interior light and locked it a few times and it worked. Maybe it was god then?

Batman,

I reccomend you try a new battery first. I had the exact problem you describe.

Turns out the immobiliser system in clios is very voltage/current sensitve and the battery simply discharged alittle too much over your 12 hour shift.

Replace your car battery, and im almost sure it will solve your problem.

edit: it wouldnt hurt to check your chassis connection from the battery (negative). They can corrode.

It's happened twice though, once just randomly and once when mother washed my keys, both times had the same cure.....

Meh, lol

right i went down and did everything dc battery, swapped relays around, unlocked/locked near light, held lock button on dash until beep, it didnt do anything then i was listening to the engine prime like the eeeegggnnnggee noise that usally click off, sometimes it sounded weaker i kept flipping it back and forth and i turned it over by accident and it turned, whats the actual noise?

im going to replace battery tommorow aswell as every fuse and relay

the noise is the fuel pump activating i think.

no need for the fuses unless they have blown, just do the battery.

replaced battery and fuses today,
i still had the 1.2 battery in giving out 310 amps where the one i bought today was for the 2.0 and gives out 600 amps is it possible that thiss could be fudgy it up? £70 quid like for the flipping battery
