In a Premier Inn trying to connect to Xlive...

Lol.. Working away and brought the box along with the wireless adaptor to try to connect to xbox live to pass the time by..

Have got connected to the premier inn's wifi (swisscom router) but I cant connect to the Internet.. Any idea on how to by pass this?

It's got no security or anything so should just connect surely!? :S

Premier Inn charge for their Wifi, silly question but have you paid?

Also it probably won't work even if you do pay as you have to login to their website first before you can start web browsing and due to the 360's lack of a browser it ain't gonna work

But isn't xbox live different in someway...!?!? As it doesn't download like surfing on the laptop does!? Or am i and my work partner wrong!?

No different to using a laptop. Its send and receiving data so its uploading and downloading

It will use different ports to connect, maybe they are blocked. Some hotel wi-fi require you to log in using a web browser before you can use it, obviously this isn't possible on the xbox.

Hmmmm, ok so that's the problem, has any1 done this to know it actually works!? As I don't fancy paying to play and it not work somehow!? Lol.

Pretty sure you would have to pay then connect on laptop to their wireless, put in the code on the webpage then connect xbox to laptop and run it through it

It has user name and password etc in additional netWork settings!? Could that be the key for it once paid as it says on wifi leaflet that login etc is required or would it still not work thru the Xbox n not a laptop???
