In Car Computer!

  Renault Clio 2003
Okay,

Many of you are probably going to read this thread and laugh, but it is worth asking I beleive in my opinion.

It's not the computer itself I'm worried about, I'm a PC geek and that side of it isn't a problem for me.

The problem is the screen what's the easiest way of inserting a screen, has it been done before, anyone have any links, videos or pictures?

Anything would be apprechiated.

Thanks,

Jack.

i moulded a bracket into the panel so the screen popped into the bracket
it wasn't easy but i had a lot of time on my hands then

Like a screen bracket? So you just made the bracket fit into the dash, and popped the screen in?

Where can I get one of these brackets?

Thanks,

Jack.

the bracket came with the touch screen so it could be mounted in a head rest

I think i cut a hole into the panel slighty larger than the screen.
then covered the screen in masking tape and then greased the tape so it wouldn't stick to the filler and set it into the hole where i wanted it.
then mixed both fibre glass and filler together and used this to fill the gap around the front of the screen . I found it easier to sand when both were mixed and a very strong job.
remove screen from back of panel and sand the front until it looks the part :)
then mount the head rest bracket that came with my screen with more fibreglass to the back of the panel so the screen has a base to click into

hope you can make sense of this all
