for a universal you whould need nuthink should all come in the bit but all this will do is give you a better sound and suck in warm air which is ok as long as u aint after bhp gain and just want sum more noise if after bhp you want either the standerd airbox with a aftermarket filter in it and better air feed our a viper our one which is sealed and has a air you have to mount to make sure it only gets cold air hope this helps
yeh am only really after noise but will be putting in a cold air feed, jus wondered if i need certain measurments. I am not expecting any BHP gain as its such a small engine

Mate it's all about Powertec IK's, I had one on my 1.2 16v mk2 and it was awesome, much better quality than pipercross and a much louder induction noise, was fecking awesome.
you dont use a panel filter with an induction kit.
the panel filter goes in your standard airbox, the induction kit replaces the airbox and standard filter.
be aware tho that no matter how many cold air feeds you have, the induction kit will suck in hot air and will lose performance, you wont really notice it in the winter but wait untill summer. i loved my induction kit untill the summer when the car was juddering and dying when pulling away from junctions and traffic lights
If you want noise and power try hill power
Some cheap open induction kits will make a great noise. They are all about the same. My mate got a £20 one from halfords. Basically they all let you hear the engine and suck in warm air from the engine bay.
The better ones are a close system. They will not give any noise since they are sealed but they are much better for power.
The one they do at hill power is a closed system with a letterbox cut out of the side of the cylinder to allow some noise out so you get a nice sound but to keep the system still 90% sealed to maintain a good supply of cold air. I think they are £130 but they are the best of both worlds.
lol yeah it sounds great but am really just looking for a noise cheapo s**t like 60 max, cheers for advice. plus needs to b simple enuf to switch for insurance purposes
Any open air filter will have the same effect. i.e. a £20 universal fit cheap sh*t will have exactly the same effect as a k57i. Both more noise and will draw warm air in.
If its just the noise your after look in halfords motorworld etc for the cheapest universal fit you can find. the more expensive ones are only good to make your bonnet look good
Wouldent call it summer but had it since end of september, was rather hot around the time i stuck it on and i had no problems at all....Just from the rents complaining my car was to loud lol
