An ITG Maxogen is the dogs but its very expensive unless you can get one secondhand on the cheap.

For that money i'd get a BMC CDA.

But why is the ITG Maxogen supposed to be so good. It has no direct air feed, other than a feed from behind the headlight. It doesn't heat soak from the engine, but then neither does plastic. I can't work out why it is so much better than fitting a panel filter in the standard airbox and suplying a cold air feed to it.

I'm not saying it's not worth getting, I'd just like some reasoning as to why its so good say over the V6/cup airbox?

Compaired to an espace v6/ph1 airbox its probably no better than them other than it looks pretty. Although the filter on the maxogen is very funky, whether is makes a difference I don't know.

You don't really need a caf as long as you reasonably isolate the space behind the headlight as its a lot cooler than in the engine side of the bay.
