induction question...opinions?

I am currently using a k&N 57i on my mk1 172.
I've heard all the bad news about sucking in hot air and they are a waste of money, so what is recomended?
The thing is, i LOVE the noise it makes, and i don't think my life would be complete without it!
So what else is on the market that makes the roar AND will help performance?!

Did you notice performance degrade due to heat soak? Any heat shield come with this kit?

didn't notice any performance loss, however, might just be me, but i think its quicker at night? when the air is colder maybe?
and as for making up a heat shield?! i have trouble sticking a stamp to an envelope, you do not want to let me loose on an engine!!

LOL, an honest answer...BMC or the viper will give you the best all round gains and still make one hell of a roar...nout compared to the k & N tho.

Don't buy the one from Demon Tweeks. I bought it and ripped my hands to shreads on the sheet metal trying to fit it. It just didn't seem as if it was meant to fit (prob me fitting it wrong, it is meant to go round the exhaust isn't it, lol)

Still haven't got it fitted to this day. Sitting in a box with my blood all over it

I bought the heat shield from demon tweeks, think its made by Green Filters, not the best quality but seems to do the job. It makes my k&n set up a little like the Hillpower item. May be the same one that Bezza4 mentioned?

Either way not bad for around £13 delivered.

yeh i agree, i got a viper and love it, would definantly buy one second hand though, a bit pricey new.
Though would be cheaper to just get a heat sheild or relocate the filter somewhere!

The guy who has lent us his 182 will be selling his Viper in around 4 weeks time..as he will have the new V-Force kit fitted...
