Info please

Hi all, i am just after a little information if at all possible. I am looking to change my current engine in my 1999 clio, are there any garages that anyone may know of who would do such a conversion in the north of england? Also i have been informed by a reputable renault tuning company that a R5gtt engine can be fitted to my shape of car, has anyone had this done or know of anyone thanks.

not really heard of the r5 gtt engine transplant but heard of the tt engine or the volvo engine being used , if that helps

yeah i have heard of the volvo conversion but only seen them in mk1 clio's and by all accounts its easier going for a 2 litre lump, it was k-tec that told me the r5gtt could be done and they had seen a conversion

Ive seen one or two clio IIs that have had the R5gtt conversion.

i have always liked an r5 but like my clio too much to part with it so was thinking ot getting the best of both worlds, i know(b4 ppl say) the money i'll end up spending i'd be better off selling up nd getting a nother car but i dnt drink, smoke and work for renault in a parts capacity so parts shouldnt be a problem

for what it'd cost to get the right amount of power out of the r5 lump to get it to go fast you could put the 172 engine in.

dont bother, buy the car that has the engine OE, i put a gtt in my mk1 clio and although i was really happy with it, i had major major insurance issues which have put me off doing something similar again for life

As siad by all unless you have a realy good special one off bodywork car sell up and buy the proper car its much simplier and cheaper usual.y

Drop Matt a call at Renault specialist breakers in accrington £3k drive on drive out I think he charges.

Google for the phone number it has 666 at the end or something like that.
