****ing Renault monkeys!

if you are anywhere near the westcountry and dont mind a trip stu then i can get wheels fitted for you by someone who wont f**k it up or who if they do will take ownership of the problem. i seriously cant believe that you cant find somewhere local that is capable of such a simple task tho. i realise you must be fuming but like i said before a free wheel/set is over the top. just becasue you have been lucky in the past and a company has let you keep them doesnt mean its reasonable to expect every other business you deal with to do the same. you win some you lose some just chalk this up as balancing up for your luck in the past.

Loony Im not even close to the West Country.............and as a rule we get tyres supplied and fitted at work FOC..............no problems...............but as has been mentioned accidents do happen, Im the first to agree, and if they do then the company puts it rite as they should.

Unfortunately when I went to get my tyres fitted the tyre fitter was on holiday so I opted to take them somewhere else, my choice..........bad choice.

Now back to this situation............these wheels are of no use what so ever to Reno and therefore there is no reason why they should not be given to Liam............infact as I say I think thats the way it should be no question.

Ill say this, Im going to dam try to get them. Fair enough there will be some people out there capable of the task of fitting tyres. But in this situation where I spent some time looking for somewhere that stated there would be no damage and then there was, its almost laughable!

I dont see why they should be allowed to keep them and sell them in this situation. But if they do they do. I wanted my original rims with new tyres, thats all, nothing more. No new wheels etc. This cannot be done now. I now have to travel back to get it sorted out.

Ill let you know if I get the wheels....

thanks for everyones replies.

as I said to Stu, my faith in Renault dealers has never been restored. One reason why i have chosen not to get my headlamp washer replaced FOC, cos im sure as hell they will mess something else up. Great cars, great company, w*** dealers.

demonstraters have numerous chunks and scrapes taken out of them by customers and more often than not the dealer swallows the cost not the customer. whats to say they wont either refurb these or leave them only slightly marked to replace a rim on a car that has been damaged by the customer? it does work both ways. i sympathise with you and liam its sh*t luck but as i say there is reasonable and unreasonable expectations as to how they should put the situation right.

I dont think its unreasonable................these wheels are of no use whatever to Reno and therefore its the only fair and reasonable thing they can do................if it were me I would EXPECT that if I were to ask then they would agree.

As Liam says we never wanted new/refurbd wheels ALL we wanted were some tyres fitted thats all...............simple eh...............I wish.

Fortunately for me I will never again be at the mercy of these people...........and thats NEVER.

Some peeps seem to think its easy to find a decent tyre fitter well we cant and its not for the want of trying...............also how do you know theyre any good..............only when its too late eh.

Go get em Liam.................and remember the uniform yeah;)

Cheers Stu

lmao,

firstly its bad luck that your alloys got damaged, and your very lucky to be getting 2 new free alloys, not all tyre fitters are to55ers so stop talking bollox, just because your alloys got marked doesnt mean it was done on purpose or was the tyre fitters fault directly, most of the tyre machines are old and pretty crap, ours at work isnt the best to use,

at the end of the day your alloys were damaged by accident, and u have got 2 brand new alloys for free in place, no-one wants this but accidents happen, u dont own the alloys that are damaged if they give u new ones, and i very much doubt they will sell em, may find they are going back in under warrenty,

what i really cant beleive is how irate u lot have got over this

Richy,

Its not everyone who has got irate................just me................and I DID NOT get ANY free wheels...................infact I got nothing and they damaged ALL 4 wheels.

I have said early on in this thread "present company excluded" I assume youre a tyre fitter so that statement includes you.

Second it isnt bad luck cause we went out of our way trying to ensure NO damage................so the least we expect is that they do exactly that dont damage our wheels.

Also I work for a tyre company and I can tell you there is a LOT of useless tyre fitter out there.

As a tyre fitter you know that a machine that has just been used to fit a tyre to a 5J wheel CANNOT then be used to fit a tyre to an 8J wheel without being adjusted to suit...............it should not make a lot of dif that a machine is old.

yes i am a tech for reno, i have no problem fitting tyres myself and dont understand how some ppl cant fit em , i do understand fully as i wouldnt want my alloys damaged to! no one would,

with the machines it shouldnt make a difference how old it is but i have personally worked with different machines which even though they will be set up correctly the arm may move in or out, clamps release on there own! i was jawed by a wheel from this at my last garage, i know how to set a machine up perfectly, but some machines are plain sh*t!!!

unfortantly if they managed to damage all 4 for your rims then obviously the person who fitted them was a plank, and after damaging one they shouldnt of been allowed to do the others , im not saying there isnt any idiots out there as ive seen a fair few too but they always end up without a job soon after!!

not every tyre fitter etc is useless

Ill go along with that they should have at least stopped and set the machine up.................but they didnt.

And yeah theres always some that are useless.............just more tyre fitters...............as for my local Reno dealer.....NO PROBLEMs there.

they finally turned up even though renault UK still say non in stock, well done renault dealer.

they said they want the old two back but i think i will hang on to them for a while yet until I get round to taking them back :) got these guys to fit them cost me £30 so in all Ive spent £60 getting 2 tyres fitted.

The renault valves on the front are slightly shorter than the rear ones now but thats just been picky probably :)

Theyll probably forget all about them Liam;).............at least they have replaced them..........its probably a better result than if the damage had been done in a tyre & exhaust place cause thats where mine got damaged and I didnt get anything:mad:

£60 is still nuts though just to get 2 tyres changed eh:(................it makes you wonder how much it will cost you the next time eh:eek:

I take it Reno didnt fit them and you have found a place that can do it without damaging the wheels yeah?
