Inlet manifold problem !! HELLPPOO

Hey guys , major help needed ,
i have a Clio 182 , and it's just had a new engine put in , unfortunately they've put a 172 engine in , and the garage seems to think my inlet manifold off my 182 won't fit onto my new engine ? The mechanic said with my inlet manifold on the engine it's idling high and that the renault sport cover doesn't sit aslow as it should ? any ideas ????

Hi and welcome, 182 manifold does not fit onto a 172 engine (can be done iirc but it needs fettling with) you will beed a 172 inlet , the 182 inlet also has a breather pipe attached to it so that will be causing the high idle, that needs bunging up if you were to use the inlet

Would I need 172 bottom inlet and top ??
also how would I tell the difference if I was to buy one , I'm going to look at one tonight , but I don't want to end up buying another 182 version

Bottom inlets are the same

This is the one you want, just 1 breather pipe near where the TB is bolted

^^Thats a 182 top inlet, you will notice the extra pipe at the back of the inlet
