Inlet manifold removal

  Clio 172 Phase 2
hi there has any1 got a link or no how to remove the inlet manifold?
Is it a quick job?
just want to spray paint her

Oh on clio 172

You don't have to unless it's knackered. Remember to remove all the other fittings before you pull it out of the engine bay too!

Ok im quite handy with mechanics. how long would u estimate for job? and is it ok to spray with normal paint ?

For removing it - 5 minutes.

With regard to spraying - I'd have a search on here about that. I've not sprayed mine so I don't know.

Top Inlet is easy - the bolts you see across the front, plus the two either side of the coil pack at the back.

Don't forget to unplug the various sensors-map, ait, tb etc.

And don't do the inlet bolts up tight! They are only meant to be nipped up, so many people do them up FT and either round the heads off or strip the threads

I got my fuel rail guard off with a normal socket set and a small extension bar thing,
it's just that you have to put the socket in first then attach the handle thingy bit,
as there's not much space in between the guard and the front of the car.

Make sure you cover the lower inlet manifold when you take the top bit off... the last thing you want is something falling in!
