Can my partner be the main driver n insurance policy holder (make me a named driver) on my 182 if I'm the reg keeper of my 182!?

Is this possible.

If so will save us alot of Money!

+1. As far as I know all insurance co.s will only have the policy holder in the same name as the registered owner, unless it's a business.

Im with Admiral and Im the policy holder and my mum is named even though its my mum's name on the V5, so yes?
We are on a multicar policy though for the car she uses so don't know if that makes a difference

Yes it is possible if she is the main user.

Think that's why they ask you if you are registered keeper/owner of the vehicle.

You have to be carefull with this as I've got my mrs and dad on the policy as named drivers but I'm the main one - mrs uses the car every odd day. Dad uses it when no other car is availible in the house.

They were slightly 'iffy' about it as it did bring the ins down and the fact I only do 7k a year! Plus the car being kept at the owners adress ect.... Mines registered at 3 address's. Home, mrs home and work

When I last renewed - almost a year ago with Elephant - the guy I spoke to actually encouraged me to add females to my policy to bring it down.

I don't think there would be an issue, I had a lease car that was in the lease company's name for the first year and then mine after, just happened that way, I think it pushed my premium up a little though.

There is a difference between owner and registered keeper
