Installing an Alpine CD Changer

  Bye Bye 182....
Hi ive bought a standard alpine CD changer that goes in the 182's under the seat. I have routed all the wiring however im not sure how to mount it under the drivers seat.

It has been suggested to me to remove the driver seat so that I can screw the bracket down - however would this not result i the airbag in the seat firing? Any other ides on how to fit it?

Also are there holes under the carpet for the screws to go into or do you just have to make some holes? Thanks

u have 2spade hole at front underseat, and ot back theres 2 torx screw , basically a plate with the cd changer slides in and screw down

In the past I have not wanted to drill holes in the floorpan to mount aftermarket changers so have used Velcro.

Another trick is a pice of mdf stuck to the floor under the carpet and the CD changer screwed through the carpet into the wood.

Cheers for that. Can I get the proper bracket from renault then and have you any idea at how much im looking at for it?

I got the bracket from renault for when I was doing this, cost about £9 I think maybe less but wasn't a lot.
Though its a pain in the arse to get the bracket in once the changer is installed on the bracket but its possible and it is probably the best way to do it.

It clips in at the front and has a torx bolt at the rear, I just removed the document tray that was already there and then put the bracket in its place and used to same bolt to secure the bracket that had been securing the tray.
