Installing Xenons on DCI

Hi all,
I've got myself a set of 182 Sport xenons with ballasts and ignitors included, I haven't actually seen the product as I got it shipped to another address. Question is, are these basically plug and play after removing my old headlights, or so I need any other kit to make them legal/work as intended?

If the bulbs are included I think just wiring up but you'll need headlight washers for an mot pass

I don't think you do anymore.
I think it's now a case if the washers have to work if you have them fitted. If you don't have them, then they can't be tested.

Just googled it and you're right. Wording error between the vosa guidlines and the Northern Ireland dva guidlines. Looks like I have to have words with my last mot tester

So presumably the plugs are the same? Do you what temp the original lights were at?

Are washers specific to xenons, out of curiosity?

yes plug and play basically. The xenon thing is basically to keep dirt from disrupting the light output. Xenon lights are basically millions of camera flashes each second(very bright as you can imagine), so if bird s**t is reflecting light back into the lamp it's very possible that light will reflect back in and out into eye level of on coming traffic. Also debris would increase the heat of the lamp.

I see. I have come across from posts around the web about doing something about levelling the lights? Would be cabin adjustment have any effect on the new headlights - would they be compatible?

Not 100% sure on that. My second hand xenons always came with the beams levelled and stuck at a legally acceptable position. But I no longer have xenons to check physically for levelling devices.
