Insurance credit checks?

Anyone know how intensive car insurance credit checks are?

I've always paid for my insurance up front, but this year i'm going to have
to pay by instalments, i've been getting quotes and they all talk about credit checks.

Now basically i'm assuming my name is dirt as I have previous with the banks,
am I up sh1t creak as far as paying monthly goes?

Anyone else have a bad credit rating and paying monthly?

They usually make a search to check you are who you say you are, that is all.

I've never heard of anyone being refused it because it's on a pro-rata basis where as if you fail to pay then cover will be cancelled anyway.

I have a seriously bad credit rating mate never declared my self bankrupt (but got close a few years ago) and I have never struggled to get car insurance on pay monthly. Check out the barclay card credit card helps build upcredit ratings I'm using it at moment

Phew,
I had visions of having to SORN my car for a couple of months untill I'd saved enough to pay it all off.

I've got a Barclay credit card, had it before I had my bank troubles and I allways pay my monthly bill.
