Insurance dilema, need help.

  Titanium 182
Right I have just sold my 182 and want to use my brothers seichento until I can find something to buy...

Can I swap my insurance over to his seichento ?

He has insurance on it with Quinn Direct and he is a learner. My insurance company is bell.

Are you allowed separate policies on one car ?

don't think so, will probably have to add you to his policy, or cancel his and transfer yours over, then add him.

Just change your 182 insurance to your Brothers car.

PLUS you'll get a small rebate as the 182 would have cost more.

If you have sold you 182, you need to cancel the policy on it.

else the new owner will struggle to insure it.

You can freeze you policy till you find a new car.

You will then need to add youself as a named drive to your brothers car.

Mate you need to freeze your current policy as if the guy crashes on the way home he isn't insured (you cant have two seperate policys on 1 car)

You would need to get your bro off the car (so cancel his insurance) and then add the sciento (whatever) to your policy. They will then reimburse you the difference in premium (so will probably give you about 1.4k back lol)

I insured my 1.2 for 3 weeks after I sold it to get a NCB. Did it with a scooter for 6 months too. Never a problem for me.

That's all wrong.. I've had two policies on the same car before no bother, in fact I think I've had three at once.

Just switch the policy over to the fiat until you find a replacement. You should get a small rebate aswell as it's less to insure it

So how come when i came to insure my 182 on temp cover they asked if the owner had canceled the policy as its illegal to insure one car with two separate policy's?

Im not intentionally spreading BS that is genuinely what i was told.

No idea! I had my 172 and had my misses insured on it, and me. Different policies.

Same with her Mum's Ka. Her mum was insured aswell as her, before switching her policy to the 172. Maybe different in Scotland? Though I wouldn't think so.

When I sold my 182 I was still insured on it for a couple of weeks after until I found a replacement. The lad that bought it had no issues sorting his own policy on it either. I'm with admiral.

Reason I didnt ring and freeze it was to avoid 2 lots of admin fees when I have to call again for the new car.
