182cup & 172 racecar
Unfukkinbeleaveable. That is all I can say.
LOL? Correct me if I'm wrong, but crashing makes your insurance premiums increase...Your first car is to crash and make mistakes in.
His car is worth £400. It's a 1.2. Insurance want £4000. How on earth will he insure a 172?sell the car. buy a standard ph1 172 n insure that instead.

You just told him that first cars are for crashing... that's not very good advice for getting him lower insurance.Congratulations - you've understood my point...?
Your first car isn't for crashing.I must have missed where you've provided advice?
If he insures this car for 4k and bumps it, repairs it, tries to reinsure it next year, the price will have gone up... from 4k...
An unmolested, same spec car will cost less to insure first time around, so second time, after the inevitable bump, will be as palatable...
Your first car isn't for crashing.
So go out and buy the most expensive car you can, for your first car.
Ya, well played.
Precisely. I'm not sure how telling anyone that 'a first car is to crash' is good advice.I did and I managed not to crash. Just don't drive like a mong.

If it wasn't modded it would still be around £2k or more. For first time drivers, these days, it really is ridiculous.its £4k because of all the mods n s**t he's done to it. i got insured on my 1st car which was a ph2 172 for £2k. so i dont see why not!? even if he bought one for just over £1k he still got another £3.5k to insure it. ino what id rather do out of the two options as he obv doesnt want another slow car.

Christ, you really are quite the numpty.
Use Google to search for the percentage of first year drivers that crash or are crashed into. Might make you wake up about the point I am trying to make.
You are still learning in your first car. You will make a mistake, regardless of how you drive, as you have no experience. Is that better, or would you like a pretty drawing?
This. I saved up for my 1st car, even though it was a shed I wasn't planning to crash it in any way.
He doesn't have a very expensive car though. And you were telling him that the purpose of his car was to crash, not be crashed into. Failing to see any point to this conversation here, or how I'm the numpty when I'm saying be careful to bring premiums down, and you're saying crash :SI was crashed into twice by those you've aptly described as "mongs". Had I had a very expensive car, I would not be able to afford the car I have now as the insurance would have raped me.
Insurance for females is cheaper though!
I always thought you were female up until yesterday!Im male, I really should put that in the post bit sction of my name somewhere!

My Xenons were brand new, over £1000's worth though :rasp:Ohh right, havent delcared that on mine as I didnt think it would really make a difference :S can always take a hammer to them incase of a smash
Obviously I'm not stupid enough to pay that. But they were brand new in the Renault boxes from the factory.^ Serious dedication!

Just as a rough idea, my first car was a 2003 Clio 1.2. Lowered, full Renaultsport body kit, Xenons, spoiler, alloys and it was £1600 fully comp. in the worst catagory postcode there is. That was using a specialist company, which was Adrian Flux. Give them a try on a modofied policy and it should be a lot cheaper than you're being quoted.
