insurance for exhaust?

i am insured with tesco at the moment and just want to get a blueflame, they said if it is a performance exhaust(i.e increase brake horse power) then it adds, £180 to my premium, what shuld i do or say?

Tesco class performance modifications in bands according to the expected gains. The exhaust won't give you much by way of gains - some people have even declared them as OE replacements as they are cheaper than buying standard ones from Renault.

so? If you have 1 year no claims and are over 21 they should insure you.

ive got 4 years, but tesco was £1400 which was cheaper than them they quoted 2.5k

last year I paid 970 with all mods declared with 1 year no claims and i was 24 at the time.
this year is 580.

my postcode is B15 apparently high risk stuff etc etc

Elephant charged me £50 for the year for my exhaust... Most mods cost me £25 each on the premium declared, and they were by far the cheapest insurer.
