Im forever reading on here how low some people pay for their insurance. I think mine is very high considering my circumstances.
Any idea why mine is so dam high?
3 years ago I had a 306-GTi 6 which was worth more than my Clio and this cost me less to insure, plus I was 23 at the time. I then had a company car for just over 2 years. My new insurer, The AA allowed me to retain my full NCB which I had built up before getting a company car, so now this is what I have.
03 Clio 172, garaged overnight. I pay £1,042.00 with £120 excess. Ive got full protected NCB. Full legal cover, courtesy car etc. Ive got one SP40 for speeding on a motorway from mid last year. And a total loss from September 1999, my fault (Rover 200 Vi). Im 26 BTW.
When I had the Pug, I paid £1,100.00, that was the same policy. At the time I had one SP30 and the total loss of the Rover. The Pug was the Rovers replacement. Couldnt get a sensible car now could I
So the only thing I can think of that it making my insurance so much is that I have down I do around 16000 miles a year? I have this because I know Ill do at least 12000 miles just getting too and from work. How much difference does the amount of miles you do make to the cost of the policy?
Or is an SP40 seen as worse than an SP30? 83 on a motorway, hardly a menace to society am I. Welsh Police hiding in vans...
Sorry, I know this is a long post. If you made it this far thanks
