Insurance question

Do you always need to supply a certificate (suplied by the company that fits the alarm) stating you have an alarm / imobiliser fitted to insurance companies if it states on your poicy you have one fitted? This asumes obviously that the alarm is not standard on the car but has been fitted after production. Tesco requires a certificate and i was just wonering if other companies do too.

Ive been asked by a few companies

on both after market and factory fitted alarms.

Just remember to always send a copy

cause I bet the mailto:b@stards">b@stards will loose the cert.

if you cant find the cert you can get a stand in jobbie by going toa VSIB approved installer and theyll write something out for you, should be just as good.

if it comes as standard they cannot usually withdraw insurance cover, normally what they ask for is some kinda proof to show the car has an alarm, ie handbook, dealer literature etc
