Just looked into insuring a second car on a separate policy with zero no claims on (is that right? Only use your NCB on one car)

Input 0 NCB. £393
Tried it with my 9 years NCB thinking I'm onto a winner - £1375!! with the same company and every detail kept the same.

Really don't understand them at all.

Some companies are able to mirror your NCB so you can use it for multiple cars. I know Greenlight is able to do this so speak to @Neil@greenlight

Yeah think I will. Had a good year out of them on my Clio a few years back. Thanks.

Hopefully I can sell my car with the NCB on but I was just looking into possible scenarios. Would be great if they could keep it the same price with 9 years NCB.

Had a really good quote from brentacre. This was just out of curiosity , if I can't manage to sell my first car to see what a second car insured with 0 years on a separate policy would be. Don't get it.

I'm with SKY insurance and have 3 cars insured with them. The 14 plate Clio is my main policy with all my no claims, my Megane 225 is mirrored off the Clio policy.

My 1.9DCi Megane is on a separate policy through SKY with 2 years no claims on that.

Brentacre are good. Only issue is they don't insure sheds as a second car....

You could look for a second car mirrored NCB policy, especially if the mileage on the car is low you would probably find the rates come in really well.
The benefit of using a specialist insurance is that you could add modifications to the vehicle whereas some of the mainstream online companies might struggle.
