Insurance...

Hey guys, haven't been on the forum for ages, whats happened to the main homepage?!

Anyway, currently got my 172cup insured on a modified car policy as i had a few months left to run from my previous car and the company couldn't change it to a standard scheme so been paying a bit over the odds seeing as my car is standard at the moment! Renewal is this month and been looking around, got a few online quotes which seem reasonable, my main question is are there any insurance companies that specialise in the RenaultSport cars? Ideally I would like a policy that covers occasional track use, and that wont put the premium up if i add any mods to the car at a later date, any recommendations?!

Also...if i cant get track day cover on my main policy, does anyone know if there are any companies that offer cover on an "as and when" type basis?

Cheers for the help guys,

Chris.

I don't what your age and insurance history are, buy you may well be hard pushed to find a normal policy that includes track use these days?

When I went out on the track last year I took out special insurance (can't remember the company) and it was for one day costing £10 per £1000 of cover, with a £2,500 excess.

An 'as and when' policy would be horrendously expensive but you may be able to find a company that will do a cheaper price if you pay for 5 days upfront?

I should have mentioned that! Im 22 with 4 years no claims and a clean licence. :)

try greenlight, trackday cover is £50 extra per day. Also try Aplan, not sure what their trackday policy is, but they competitive for standard insurance.

  Monaco Blue Mk2
Yeah greenlight suppose to be good for over 21's, rarely costs extra for mods and like Ad said, £50 track days.

Cheers for the advice guys, I'll give Greenlight a try, £50 seems like a good price for track cover, I'll post up a quote when I get round to phoning them! :)
